With an extensive and decorated military career with the U.S. Marine Corps, Craig Medina brings to the board his vast experience in operations, project management, risk management and strategic planning. Upon leaving the Active Duty component of the Marine Corps, Craig joined the Marine Corps Reserves and moved back to his home state of Colorado, settling in Fort Collins to attend Colorado State University and pursue an MS in Systems Engineering. While attending graduate school, he is building two startups, Calcarius Construction and Malachite Defense, with the ambition of creating high-resilience, thriving communities and supporting warfighters with new methods of terminal air defense.
Craig has always lived by the adage, “keep growing.” Although his work experience and background are very diverse, he describes a throughline of focusing on the customer and taking initiative to be successful. As a board member, Craig continues living out his philosophy that big actions can often be accomplished with small efforts if they are timely. Craig believes that ready access to clean, reliable water is the cornerstone of a prosperous community. With his daughter finishing kindergarten, he is intent on building the infrastructure to support the next generation. He joined the Board of Directors to help preserve the Fort Collins-Loveland Water District’s longstanding tradition of delivering high-quality, cost-effective water to its residents.
Craig loves Colorado and all it has to offer. He enjoys snowboarding in the winter, camping in the summer and looks forward to spending more time in the mountains with his family.
