WaterSense Smart Sprinkler Rebate Program

Save Money and Water with Smart Sprinkler Technology

Upgrading your irrigation system is one of the easiest ways to use water more efficiently and lower your water bill. That’s why we’re offering bill credits for EPA WaterSense-certified smart controllers, rain sensors and high-efficiency rotary sprinkler nozzles. These devices help your sprinklers work smarter, not harder, by adjusting watering schedules based on weather, detecting rain and delivering water more evenly to your lawn and plants. Small changes like these make a big difference for your yard, your wallet and our community’s shared water supply.

How the Rebates Work

Step 1:

Purchase an EPA WaterSense-certified smart sprinkler controller, rain sensor or rotary sprinkler nozzles (high-efficiency nozzles) in 2025, before 11/30/2025. Make sure to look for the WaterSense label to ensure you’re eligible for the bill credit.

Step 2:

Email a receipt for the purchase of your qualified items, purchased in 2025 and confirmation of the model purchased if needed (e.g., a UPC code or a photo of the original package) to billing@fclwd.com no later than 11/30/2025. Please include your name and service address.

  • EPA Water Sense Certified Smart Controller – $100 bill credit
  • Any brand rain sensor – $25 bill credit
  • Rotary sprinkler nozzles (high efficiency nozzles) – not to exceed $4 per nozzle

*Note: Limit one controller and one rain sensor per account per calendar year; no limit on nozzles.

Step 4:

Install your new equipment and enjoy the savings.

How Smart Irrigation Tools Work

Smart Sprinkler Controllers (EPA WaterSense-Certified)

Purpose: Smart controllers automatically adjust your watering schedule based on local weather, soil moisture and plant needs. This helps prevent overwatering on cool, rainy days and ensures your landscape gets the right amount during hot, dry stretches.

Rain Sensors

Purpose: Rain sensors shut off your sprinkler system when they detect rainfall. This prevents unnecessary watering during or after rain events.

Rotary Sprinkler Nozzles (High-Efficiency)

Purpose:

These nozzles apply water more slowly and evenly, allowing water to soak in with less runoff—perfect for sloped areas or clay-heavy soils.
